Eating Healthy - No More Fast Food

Last time I tried this I only made it two days, but I'm going try it again. I want to start eating healthier so the first step for me would be to cut out fast food and eating out in general. I'm not saying that you can't eat out and still make healthy choices. I'm just trying to cut this habit that I have as a first step to starting healthy eating habits. Right now I eat fast food probably about 4 to 5 times per week, possibly more. So its going to be a bit of a change for me. Starting right now until June 7th I will not eat out. This means I will have to do some grocery shopping, which I really haven't done much of if my life. I will have my friend Stephanie be my personal shopping assistant to help me make good choices. I'm not sure how this will pan out. I'm sure I'll go through some heavy withdrawals after a few days. Two weeks really isn't that long, but we'll see how it goes. I'll keep the blog updated with my progress.

  1. Great for you! Shopping isn't a big deal, but it can seem overwhelming the first few times you go at it. I know it was for me, and I used to go with my mom as a kid! It helps if you know what you want before you get there, that is to say, make a list of the meals you plan to make during the week, then add the ingredients to your shopping list before you go. It might not seem necessary, but it worked wonders for me. Plus, it made it easier to stick to my new eating habits, if all I had around was what I needed to make the meals I'd planned.
